Elizabeth is 6 Months Old!

Elizabeth is 6 months old! Last Memorial Day at the lake, I took my first "pregnancy picture."

Yeah - I thought I had a belly there! You'll notice there is not a full-length shot from this Memorial Day.
Now, a year later, we have our beautiful 6-month old baby girl.
Its been a rough month for our baby. She got her first ear infection - which was not killed by the first round of antibiotics. We've just finished our second round and I think the ear infection is still hanging around. We see Dr. D. for our 6-month "well" visit on Wednesday, hopefully I'm wrong. She's also been trying really hard to get her first teeth to show up. Still no sign of them, but they are really giving her hell. Poor baby. She's almost sitting up on her own. Actually she can for a second or two. It's so cute! Then she falls over. But she'll be there in the next couple of weeks, I'm sure. She goes to sleep by 7 and sleeps until 6:30. Well, except for the once or twice she gets up to eat. She's eating oatmeal at breakfast, a vegetable or fruit for lunch and one or two fruits and/or vegetables for dinner. She loves loves her baby food. Even bananas which had a rough start. Poor baby is also losing her hair. I thought for sure we were keeping the beautiful red hair we were born with, but lately it's becoming apparent that her hair is falling out. Not sure if it will come back the same beautiful red or if maybe we do get a blonde baby after all. Will keep you updated. And her name is still Elizabeth. People often ask us what we call her, and while I thought for sure we'd give her a nickname, she is simply Elizabeth. A big name for a little girl, but I think it suits her!
Happy 6 Months, baby girl!

Memorial Day Weekend

We had a fun Memorial Day Weekend at the Lake. Juliette came with her parents, Jess and Pete and Paul and Katie came too! The baby girls had so much fun playing together! Juliette acts like such a big girl - you'd never guess she was a month younger! (Born the day before Elizabeth's due date, which just happened to be 4 weeks after her birth date.) And Juliette already has two teeth! Poor Elizabeth is working really hard to get some - but we don't see any so far.

Here are the baby girls playing together.

Elizabeth's pretty blue eyes! And Juliette's pretty top-of-the-head!

Hey, there you are!

Elizabeth had so much fun with Katie!

Juliette was practicing sitting up in her bumbo, but Elizabeth was more interested in her toes. Toes!

Katie with the babies! (Yes, Elizabeth had an outfit change.)

The next morning. Elizabeth would have still been in her jammies too, but we had a spit-up incident.

Not only was it Memorial Day, and Elizabeth's 6-month birthday - it was also Paul's 26th birthday! He shared his tissue paper with Elizabeth.

And with Juliette.

Elizabeth really liked the tissue paper. I finally had to take it away from her because she had shred it so well I was afraid she'd be eating it soon.

Down at the boathouse with Daddy.
Paul decided to try his hand at kayaking. He practiced on the grass first.
Juliette and her momma and daddy.

Then Paul got in the water!

And Daddy kayaked too! So did Katie but I didn't end up with a pciture of that.

Time to come in!

It was such a fun weekend and we were so glad to share it with our friends!

Mothers' Day

We had a great Mothers' Day! Elizabeth let me sleep in while she and her Daddy played. Then she and Daddy went to Starbucks to get Mommy coffee. Elizabeth fell asleep on the ride, so I had to wait to open my present until later. But when she woke up, I found out she gave me a spa day!!!! What a thoughtful gift-giver she is! (And her Daddy too!).

Then we had my family over to our house for lunch. Elizabeth was excited to see Mimi and Pa-paw.

And the boys came too! They brought their momma and daddy.
Hi Alec!

Hi Mimi!

Pa-paw gave Elizabeth a bottle.

And Mamie played Pattie-cake!

That's my cousin!

Outfit change!
Hope everyone had as wonderful a Mothers' Day as this momma!

Rolling Over

Elizabeth is rolling over now - when she wants too. She can go front to back or back to front. We finally caught it on video.

Kentucky Derby Weekend

We had a really fun Kentucky Derby weekend at the lake with most of my family. Pa-paw bought the babies a swimmin' pool! No one can sit up yet and it was too cool for water, but the pool worked great as a play pen! Elizabeth enjoyed all the time outside.

Here she is with her Poppa.

And her Mimi and Pa-paw bought a highchair to have down at the lake - the kind that attaches to a regular kitchen chair. She was happy to test it out for us.

And cousins Alec and Isaac were there! And they had hats! So did Mamie.

Even though I'm the only one smiling, everyone enjoyed their hats.

Close up of Elizabeth in her hat. In the earlier picture she's wearing the little outfit that matches the hat, but by hat time we were already on a different outfit.
Where's your hat, Poppa?

What's that on your shirt, Pa-paw?

Oh this is way fun!

Bye-bye Isaac and Alec. You'll get some more hair on those cute heads soon!
