My Blue Eyed Girl

11 Months Old

Elizabeth is 11 months old! Next month she turns 1!!!!

We had a great weekend! Friday we went to the lake with Mimi and Papaw. When we woke up on Saturday our cousins, Isaac and Alec were there! And they brought a really cool toy that everyone could play with! This takes concentration.

And - Mimi and Papaw bought a wagon! That can hold all the babies! First we rode around in the house.

Then we got to go outside!
Later, E took a ride in the wagon by herself.

E loved the wagon rides but was really mad each time we took her out. We haven't seen her express her displeasure about a change of activity like that before. The toddler years are going to be fun!
Mimi got a picture with all the babies!
And E got to ride on Papaw's shoulders.

Today we installed the gate at the bottom of the stairs. Elizabeth sees the box here...hmmm...what does this have to do with me?
Oh...I see...it's a project for me to help you with Daddy, fun!
Hmph. I get it now.
Then we went to the park! What a beautiful day. Elizabeth loves the swings - but the slide is even better!

And in other news - Elizabeth took a step - several times tonight. She was hanging on to the ottoman in her room and then let go - stood there for a second - took one step - and leaped into Eric's lap. She did this several times - what a big girl!

Tonight's Dinner

Tonight Eric decided refried beans are in the category of foods-Elizabeth-can-feed-herself. What do you think?

Time for a Gate at the Bottom of the Stairs

This weekend Elizabeth discovered the stairs! She has been playing 3 feet away from them for the last ten and a half months, but has never even attempted to climb. This weekend she went all the way up - over and over. (One of us was right behind her the whole time.) Looks like its time to get another baby gate!

First landing.

Look at me!
Top of the stairs!

Yay!
Ooh...these move a little when I pull really hard...

Pumpkin Patch 2009

Today we went to the Pumpkin Patch. We didn't really know what we were getting into. It was a madhouse! It took us 30 minutes to get in the parking lot and find a parking spot. Once we got to the Patch, we quickly realized our plans to have a hay ride, walk through the corn maze and take some relaxing pictures were simply not going to happen. There were just soooo many people. Lines for everything - we even had to stand around and wait for people to leave the various pumpkin piles to take pictures. Next year, we will either find a less popular Pumpkin Patch or go first thing in the morning. But E cooperated pretty well and we got some cute pics.

These days when you try to get her to smile, she sticks her tongue out - she thinks its the funniest thing!

Recent Pics

Although Jack wasn't sure about Elizabeth at first (and we weren't sure about him) he has taken his cue from Desi and become a wonderfully gentle kittie (most of the time). Elizabeth still slightly prefers Desi, but she often gives her love to Jack too! I promise she wasn't hitting him with the red hammer!

We purchased a jogging stroller several weeks ago and until Monday it lived in the living room. This picture made me decide we should actually take it out. Elizabeth liked it a lot and I think I will get used to it.

I love weekend morning for lots of reasons. One reason is because we all get to hang out in our jammies. Here we are last Saturday morning. E is sporting the one sock look.

These are so cute! She loves watching her Daddy run her bath.

In other news, her tear duct probing did the trick! Even though one eye took a couple of weeks post-probing, they now look great! No more crusty eyes. And she has 4 honest to goodness teeth now and we see a fifth one coming in on the top. We're about five weeks before her bday and I think she will be walking. She's trying so hard!

Dancing Baby

Elizabeth is a very musical baby. She has a lot of toys that play music and she's always dancing to the songs, especially now that she can pull herself to standing. Tonight Eric (who after being quarantined in our bedroom for the last 4 days with H1N1, is finally 24 hours post-fever and therefore no longer contagious) gave her his Iphone to play with. Watch with sound. Pretty cute!

Elizabeth's Saturday

Well I should have incorporated these from Mimi's camera in the previous posts, but I didn't. Elizabeth obviously had quite a bit of fun while we were at the game. She had a snack with Pa-Paw.

And helped Mimi cook.

And then got to play with Poppa and his walker. She figured out just what she was supposed to do with it!

Look how big that girl is!

A Busy Weekend and a Really Long Post

Well tonight our family is under the weather. Elizabeth has had a cold for a few days and I came down with it Thursday. Today Eric finally got it too - even though he had assured me he would not get sick because "it's all mental." So we ended up missing Lizzie's birthday party today - we missed you Lizzie! - but thought it would be better not to share our germs with all our friends and their babies. But yesterday, we had a super busy day!

First, Elizabeth and Eric came to watch me run the Delaney Vineyard 5K. It was a nice cool morning so Elizabeth got to wear the new fleece vest her Daddy picked out the night before. Here she is ready to go!Katie, Jennifer and Lizzie ran too! Here we are before the race.
Little E wasn't entirely happy about being kind of cold with lots of people and loud jazz music first thing in the morning. But she was a good sport.
Mommy's running wore Elizabeth out. She was jumping as hard as she could literally seconds before this picture was taken. She was done!

Then, Elizabeth went to hang out with Mimi and Pa-Paw while Eric and I went to the A&M v. Arkansas game at the new Cowboys Stadium. But first there was tailgating!
The weather was not perfect...but our hosts Dave and Jenn were well prepared with a canopy (no picture) so we stayed mostly dry.

Some of the non-Aggies came too - just to tailgate. Kevin brought his own Keg.Katie brought her water bottle full of...something.

The actual Aggies - doing their Aggie thing. The stadium is just awesome. It was my first visit to any NFL stadium and it was amazing.

Our tailgate party hosts - David and Jenn. Thanks for hosting a great party guys!
Me and Eric.
It was such a fun time! Thanks Mimi and Pa-Paw for hanging out with Elizabeth so we could go!

As I said, today we were all a little under the weather, but Elizabeth did some cute things. Now that she's pulling up, she'll pull up on my pants if she wants me to pick her up. It's so cute!!! This is what I see when I look down.
Where's Elizabeth?
There she is!
Let me out!
Really let me out!
